Some of the things that this course includes:
- A foundation upon which a Christian leader builds their ministry.
- A basic understanding of the triune God is presented, as well as how to have an ever-deepening relationship with him.
- The attributes of God the Father, the person and work of Christ the Son, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit are outlined.
- A strong emphasis on Scripture as the informing source of our knowing God.
- Who we are as human beings in relation to God.
- The importance of loving God is stressed with practical suggestions for how to grow in the grace and knowledge of God.
Learning Objectives
- Know and understand (head-educated):
• The basic doctrines relating to the triune God: the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit
• Who we as human beings are in relation to God
• The key Scripture passages which teach these doctrines and how we are to have a relationship with God - Be able to (hand-equipped):
• Give a basic description of who God is and our relationship with him as human beings, and provide biblical references which support the description
• Guide people into a deeper understanding of God - Develop an appreciation of and value for (heart-enriched):
• A growing intimacy with God
• The importance of drawing on a relationship with God for effective ministry
